EMDR therapy - eye movement desensitisation reprogramming

Trauma is an emotional response to a terrible event, like a severe accident, car crash, rape, COVID-19, PTSD, serious illness, or any type of abuse. Immediately after the event, shock and denial take place. This can then trigger longer term reactions, which include unstable emotions, flashbacks, estranged relationships, and physical symptoms, like headaches, nausea, anxiety, and depression. If this trauma is not processed properly in the brain, this then causes severe symptoms in the body, such as, severe depression, severe anxiety, cancer, and diseases. Therefore, I use EMDR therapy on clients, using a bilateral stimulation eye movement technique to help process the trauma through the brain and to aid healing. I also use other techniques to help the EMDR therapy.

Recently, I have had many clients who have used this technique successfully.

EMDR is a type of psychotherapy that helps people process traumatic memories and other distressing experiences. It aims to reduce the emotional impact of these memories by activating both sides of the brain through bilateral stimulation (like eye movements). This helps the brain to reprocess the memory, making it feel less distressing and allowing the client to move forward.
